Mrs. Bertha SPORTEL - 600 Golden Dr., Formerly of 2114 N. Westnedge, passed away Saturday evening. Mrs. SPORTEL was born July 1, 1888, in the Netherlands, been a resident here since the age of 16. She was the widow of Henry SPORTEL. A member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are 3 daughters, Miss Ella SPORTEL, Mrs. John (Dena) SMITH and Mrs. John (Sinnie) YZENBAARD, all of Kalamaozo; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-children; 2 sisters, Miss Reka SCHREUDER of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Dena DYKEMA of Hudsonville; half brother, Jacob SONIUS of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, Rev. Henry Boekhovern officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
